Maintaining your bag charm: how to keep your charm looking good for longer

Your bag charm hangs on your bag every day and goes everywhere with you: on the train, in the rain, to parties. It makes sense that it needs a little love now and then. With these tips, your charm will stay beautiful for longer.

Metal parts and chains

Lobster clasps, rings, and chains can become dull due to moisture, perfume, and body lotion. Wipe them off occasionally with a soft, dry cloth. Preferably apply perfume and deodorant before grabbing your bag, not after.

Fluffy pom-poms and plush

A fluffy pom-pom, like on the Pegasus bag charm or the Polka dot glove fluffy bag charm, can become a bit flattened after a while. Gently shake it out or brush it with a soft brush. Got it wet? Let it air dry and do not use a hair dryer or heater.

Fabric and lace

Fabric charms, such as the Fabric heart bag charm, the Fabric bow bag charm, and the Cherries with lace bow, can be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth. Dab at stains instead of rubbing, and then let the charm dry thoroughly. Do not put it in the washing machine.

Beads and pearls

Beads and pearls are attached to a cord or thread. Check occasionally to make sure everything is still secure, especially if you change your charm often. If it gets caught on something, don’t pull; instead, carefully untangle it.

Rain and water

Bag charms are not waterproof. If it starts to rain heavily, tuck your charm into your bag or coat pocket for a moment. If it does get wet, pat it dry with a towel and let it air dry at room temperature.

Storage

Do you have several charms? Store them separately, for example in a pouch or jewelry box, so that chains do not get tangled and beads do not get scratched. This way, you’ll also find the right charm for your outfit of the day faster.

Not a toy

Bag charms contain small parts. Keep them out of reach of children under 3 years old and pets that like to chew on things.
